    More on Halfway New Cardinal Characteristics

    We continue investigating variants of the splitting and reaping numbers introduced in arXiv:1808.02442. In particular, answering a question raised there, we prove the consistency of cof(M)<s12\mathrm{cof}(\mathcal{M})<\mathfrak{s}_{\frac{1}{2}} and of r12<add(M)\mathfrak{r}_{\frac{1}{2}}<\mathrm{add}(\mathcal{M}). Moreover, we discuss their natural generalisations sρ\mathfrak{s}_\rho and rρ\mathfrak{r}_\rho for ρ(0,1)\rho\in (0,1), and show that rρ\mathfrak{r}_\rho does not depend on ρ\rho.Comment: 14 pages, 2 figure

    Előzetes tervünknek megfelelően a halmazelmélet alábbi területein végeztünk kutatást és értünk el számos eredményt: I. Kombinatorika II. A valósak számsosságinvariánsai és ideálelmélet III. Halmazelméleti topológia Ezek mellett Sági Gábor kiterjedt kutatást végzett a modellelmélet területén , amely eredmények kapcsolódnak a kombinatorikához is. Eredményeinket 38 közleményben publikáltuk, amelyek majdnem mind az adott terület vezető nemzetközi lapjaiban jelentel meg (5 cikket csak benyújtottunk). Számos nemzetközi konferencián is résztvettünk, és hárman közűlünk (Juhász, Sádi, Soukup) plenáris/meghívott előadók voltak számos alkalommal. | Following our research plan, we have mainly done research -- and established a number of significant results -- in several areas of set theory: I. Combinatorics II. Cardinal invariants of the continuum and ideal theory III. Set-theoretic topology In addition to these, G. Sági has done extended research in model theory that had ramifications to combinatorics. We presented our results in 38 publications, almost all of which appeared or will appear in the leading international journals of these fields (5 of these papers have been submitted but not accepted as yet).     Background Hypertriglyceridemia is the third most common cause of acute pancreatitis (AP). It has been shown that hypertriglyceridemia aggravates the severity and related complications of AP; however, detailed analyses of large cohorts are inadequate and contradictory. Our aim was to investigate the dose-dependent effect of hypertriglyceridemia on AP. Methods AP patients over 18 years old who underwent triglyceride measurement within the initial three days were included into our cohort analysis from a prospective international, multicenter AP registry operated by the Hungarian Pancreatic Study Group.
